The best MCPs for SEO and competitor research
Four servers in our directory answer SEO questions, and they are less interchangeable than they look. Semrush and Ahrefs bring the data you would otherwise read in their apps. DataForSEO sells the raw data per request. Dance’s connector skips the tables and tells you what to change.
The right one usually depends on a subscription you already have, then on whether you want data to explore or a decision to act on.

How to choose
Start with the subscription you already have
Semrush and Ahrefs servers are included with eligible plans and spend the API units those plans include. If you have one, start there: the data will match what your team already reports on.
Decide whether you want data or a decision
Data servers are excellent for exploring: keywords, competitors, links. They leave the judgment to you and your assistant. Dance’s connector returns a recommendation with evidence instead. Many teams will want both.
Watch the meter
Semrush, Ahrefs and DataForSEO all charge per request in some form. Assistants can make several calls to answer one question. Set unit or budget limits before long exploratory chats.
